Empowering Youth: The Journey of Tounsi w Nghayer

Tounsi w Nghayer is an innovative initiative dedicated to engaging Tunisian youth and empowering them to drive change within their regions. Now in its third iteration, following successful runs in 2016 and 2019, the program has continued to evolve and expand its impact.

Through these trainings, participants gain a deeper insight into their regions and develop projects aimed at building a better tomorrow.

Concept and Objectives

The core concept of Tounsi w Nghayer revolves around empowering young individuals to become change-makers in their communities. By following their own guidance and perspectives, these youth are encouraged to identify and address local challenges, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility.

Training Sessions

The journey begins with a series of eight comprehensive training sessions held across various regions, including Jedaida, Douar Hicher, Jendouba, Sousse, Gabes, and Ben Arous. These sessions cover a wide range of essential topics:

• Public Speaking: Enhancing communication skills to effectively convey ideas.
• Research and Understanding: Equipping participants with the tools to conduct thorough research and gain a deep understanding of local issues.
• Fundraising: Teaching strategies for securing funds to support their initiatives.
• Ideation: Fostering creativity and innovation to develop impactful project ideas.
• Campaigning: Learning the fundamentals of running effective campaigns.
• Pitching: Refining the ability to present and sell their ideas convincingly.
• Simulation: Practicing real-life scenarios to prepare for actual implementation.

Regional Competitions

Following the training sessions, the next phase is the regional competitions. Here, youth participants have the opportunity to pitch their project ideas to a panel of jury members. These pitches are evaluated based on criteria such as clarity, feasibility, and potential impact. The regional competitions serve as a platform for selecting the best projects, which will then advance to the national competition.

National Competition

The national competition is the culmination of the Tounsi w Nghayer journey, where all selected groups from the regional competitions come together. In this final stage, teams will present their projects and compete for the title of best project. This event not only highlights the innovative ideas and hard work of the participants but also fosters a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration.
